John MattsJohn Matts - Chairman of the South of England Regional Advisors

John graduated from Cambridge in 1979 with a degree in Land and Property Management.  He is a shareholder in a 6500 acre joint venture arable farming company and used to lamb 2500 early ewes. John farms in a family partnership with extensive property interests both industrial and office developments, he has interests in renewable energy projects and he is also involved in a storage company. John is the Chairman of Pentlands Science Park Limited and also Vice Chairman of the Moredun Foundation. Email John Matts

 

Tim BebbingtonTim Bebbington

Tim qualified as a vet from the Royal Veterinary College in 1989 and has worked as a farm vet in Cornwall and Devon ever since. He is currently a partner in Castle Vet Group in Launceston with a particular interest in farm health planning and nutrition. Tim is the past president of the Cornwall Veterinary Association. Hugh Skinner

Hugh SkinnerHugh is from a farming background on Romney Marsh. He worked as a veterinary surgeon in a large animal mixed practice for 35 years, and specialised in sheep production and diseases. At present, Hugh is working on Farm Animal Health Planning with the NFU in the South-east. Hugh and his wife Pauline currently run a flock of 400 Romney and Romney cross ewes, including the development flock of high performance sheep called Romney 2000. These have been exported to several European countries and as far as Colombia. They also have a flock of top 10% performance (MLC) Texels. In his spare time Hugh enjoys golf, shooting, bird-watching and painting. Email Hugh Skinner

 

  Percy GIlmanPercy Gilman

Percy attended the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester before taking tenancy of a 750 acre farm in 1971. He now farms 3,500 acres (cereals, rape, sugar beet and grass) in Stamford and runs a ewe flock of 3,750 mule ewes using Texel X Suffolk rams. Percy is a past chairman of his local NFU and organises a small lamb marketing group of 15,000 lambs. Email Percy Gilman
