Moredun Announces National Animal Health Roadshow Dates
Vets and scientists from the UK’s leading animal health research institute will hit the road in November as they embark on a massive ten date animal health Roadshow covering the whole of Britain.
Organised by Moredun, a world leader in research into the health and welfare of livestock, each of the ten events will highlight a different health issue. It is hoped that these events will provide farmers with the information they need to maximise the health, productivity and profitability of Britain’s livestock. Subjects to be covered include worm control, liver fluke, sheep abortion, cattle pneumonia, sheep scab, cattle abortion and cryptosporidiosis.
Professor Julie Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive and Scientific Director of Moredun hoped that farmers would benefit from these events. She commented; “The subjects we are covering during this Roadshow have all been suggested by our board of regional advisors, most of whom are farmers themselves – allowing us to remain focused on the needs of the industry.” She added, “We hope that these meetings will help farmers learn more about specific animal health problems, enabling them to make informed choices about disease control on their farms.”
Moredun’s animal health Roadshow will run between 3 and 23 November and will visit Inverurie, Oban, Peebles, Kilmarnock, Alnwick, Plumpton, Oakham, Kendal, Llandissilio and Welshpool, and Moredun scientists will be joined by other animal health experts from AHVLA and SAC.
These meetings – which are also CPD events for vets and SQPs - will begin at 7.30pm, are free to attend and open to all, with sponsorship provided by QMS, HCC, Novartis Animal Health and Pfizer Animal Health.
