Moredun Proteomics Facility

Proteomics is a broad discipline incorporating identification and molecular characterisation of genes, regulation of their expression, molecular interactions, and assignment of biological functions to their products. Proteomics continues to evolve rapidly to address issues arising from sources from genome sequence through to phenotype and its approaches have many potential applications in biomedical science and biotechnology.

The Moredun Research Institute (MRI) has established a Proteomics Facility (MPF) with financial assistance from the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department (SEERAD), European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and more recently, Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian (SEEL). The MPF provides facilities for investigation of infectious diseases both from pathogen and host perspectives and within the Institute, the unit contributes to research in each of the Divisions.

The facility also provide support to colleagues outwith the Institute, currently including other institutes, universities and companies. MPF welcomes collaborations with external partners for which complete CONFIDENTIALITY can be provided where required. MPF staff are pleased to contribute towards experimental design, protocol development, data analysis, etc.

Contact proteomics@moredun.ac.uk to discuss your specific requirements.
